Na vlnách k horám, z kopcov priamo k oceánu

On the waves to the mountains, from the hills directly into the water

Branislav Bielený alias Branky / Slovensko

Fotograf, žurnalista a cestovateľ. Rád tvoril, maľoval, písal, spieval a tancoval.

Photographer, journalist, traveller and currently an individual sacrificing his comfortable life in Slovakia for a career of a designer on the edge of the world. Branky has always been very close to arts. He loves to create, write, illustrate and dance. In his early youth, he was dedicated to folk dance mainly. He had been member of a folk dance group in his hometown Poprad and later became professional dancer in the capital Bratislava. But then he abandoned dancing for plain travelling. He has always been a gadabout, a knight of the road. And so after year 2000 his stays in Slovakia have become increasingly rare. Although he sometimes happened to forget his passport, he never forgot to take his camera with him.

Photography started to pay his bills from 2006. He commenced his career with an American company. That exciting job involved heaps of travelling around all five continents. He made use of his experience from abroad in his new career of a regional photography reporter for a tabloid daily back in Slovakia. There were times when he thought of settling in Canada but eventually the desire of Australian waves took over. He spent three years in that antipode country and has returned there recently. After a semester of studies at the prestigious Billy Blue in Sydney he now continues with communication design in a bit more tropical city of Brisbane.

Autor o výstave:

Ochutnávka zaujímavých končín na surfovanie a trekovanie na štyroch svetových svetadieloch. Netradičný pohľad z dosky surfera rovno na pevninu a naopak. Atlantik, osviežujúci južný Pacifik, chladné Beringovo more. Neskôr vriace pobrežie Balinézskeho mora a Aliašská pasáž spolu Fjordami u protinožcov. Absencia saturovania farieb a skôr viac reality.

Author’s debate on show:

For a handful of interesting corners of the surf and treks, wanders on four continents of the world. Unconventional view of the board of a surfer straight to the mainland and vice versa. Atlantic, refreshing South Pacific , cold Bering Sea. Later boiling coast of Balinese Sea and Alaska passage along the fjord in Kiwi’s Down Under. The absence of more saturated colors and more reality. Off to the board, on a trip to the mountains or on an adventurous stride through the desert. One is divinely shared here. Everywhere should be a lot, lot of water.
